With
Widgetbox, it is easy to make a widget out of your blog using their wizard for making a blog widget (referred to as blidget). The simple process leads you through customizing the widget with your own color scheme, and you can even install your blog widget on your MySpace profile or other hot spots around the web with a click of the button.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 minutes
Here's How:
- Go to Widgetbox.com and sign into your account or create a new account.
- Click on the Make a Widget link on the right side of the website.
- On the next screen, click on the button labeled Blog/Feed.
- An input box asking for your blog/feed URL will continue. Type in the location of your blog. (Example: http://webtrends.about.com)
When you are done, click on the Continue button.
- Customize your widget. Layout makes your widget wider or smaller, and theme will change the color of the widget. You can also choose to display headlines only or the full articles, and choose whether to have the title and image of your blog or just the title.
Don't forget to add a description of your blog and type in some related tags.
When you are done customizing your widget, click on the Publish Blidget button.
- Congratulations, a widget of your blog is now ready and being listed in the widget gallery.
To transfer your blog's widget to your MySpace profile or some other spot on the net, click on the Get Widget button.
Tips:
- You can choose not to list your blog in the widget gallery by choosing not to list it before clicking the Publish Blidget button.
- If you weren't logged in or hadn't created an account when you clicked the Publish Blidget button, Widgetbox will prompt you to either log in or register with the site.
